Cingular's 2125 Windows Mobile Smartphone reviewed
If you've been eyeing Cingular's new
2125 but weren't quite sure how the
Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone would hold up with regular use, PC Magazine has a review up of the phone that should give
you a good idea of what's what. The good news is that the phone is easy on the eyes; not only is it nicely shaped --
even with that odd hump up top -- but it has a great QVGA screen. The bad news is that WiFi connectivity, which did
make it into T-Mobile's SDA
phone, isn't present in the 2125. PC Mag was also disappointed by the lack of 3G connectivity, but the phone's EDGE
connectivity worked fairly well for them in tests. The phone can get a impressive 14 hours of talk time, with around 9
hours of PDA use, and the Bluetooth and signal strength worked great, though the speakerphone was pretty muddy during
calls. Windows Mobile 5.0 does its job fine, and PC Mag found this phone to best its predecessor the Audiovox SMT 5600,
but fall short of T-Mobile's SDA due to the glaring omission of WiFi.

I ordered mine monday, and get it on friday -- can't wait. But 14 hours of talk time!?! that's far better than any phone I've ever had!
And really, how much are you going to use wifi on a phone this size anyway? Now on the 8125/tmob MDA, I could see it being useful.
I sent mine back. The VoiceDial is difficult if you have more than 10 contacts with more than 2 numbers a piece.
The keypad is so tiny and the phone shape makes dialing with one hand nearly impossible.
I think everyone is wowed by the display and the illusion WM5.
Why can't I find a smartphone from cingular with a good processor speed. Until that comes out... or 3G--Im sticking with my good old Axim x30/Nokia 6230 Bluetooth combo. wut wut

Guess you gotta be init to winit. So here it goes.
Wow great deal!
Just can't get over how hideous it is
I have an SMT-5600 and just love the phone. Cant wait till I can upgrade to this version.
Q: What is 3G connectivity? Is wifi considered 3G connectivity?
got this as a replacement for my locked up 5600 less than a month after i bought it. the joystick broke after a month and a half of normal use, can't go up anymore.
returned the phone after 2 mos. upgraded to it for the smartphone feature. cant stand the no-flip function. pain to have to lock keyboard everytime i put it away, and you must! i bit the bullet and bought the 3125, really nice!!
