Samsung W399 dual-mode CDMA/GSM cellphone
The FCC is yet
again the source of this new Samsung dual-mode flip. The W399 goes CDMA or tri-band GSM with slots for both RUIM and
SIM cards. It also features Bluetooth, a video capable 1.3 megapixel rotating camera with flash, an MP3 player, and
BREW support. Now, even though it's FCC approved, Phonearena does not expect this to be released to the US -- go
figure. See a few more pics after the break.

I think that there is a mistake in the article, it should be RUIM/SIM no URIM/SIM, RUIM (Re-usable identivication module, the SIM version for CDMA)
All I know is that I would like to win one of these phones because I don't have one. I personally think those of us that don't have one should win one. But that is my opinion.
I'd love a phone that supports two GSM SIM cards simultaneously so I don't have to carry two phones.
This must be for China or serious Korean roamers. China Unicom has 2 networks GSM & CDMA1x but no bridging product.
It's about time one of these came out! I need a dual-mode phone like this so bad- it would be an easy way to take advantage of Verizon Wireless's coverage (roaming from China, naturally- pretty cheap at 35¢ a minute) if my T-Mobile coverage dies out, and it allows me to keep one number from each country on the phone. And to mroach, all Chinese dual-mode phones support SIM cards in both slots- you press the C/G button and tell it whether to read either slot as SIM or R-UIM. No, you can not have both numbers running at once, still have to switch when you want to use the other number, but yes, this phone can run 2 SIMs at once. Ahhh, living in China...
Oh- sorry for the double post, but to Guysmiley, their World Wind (funny name, I know) line of phones is their bridgin product- they have a few phones that support CDMA and GSM, and slots for each (or Dual SIM/Dual R-UIM, if that floats your boat). Some are the same ones released for Verizon Wireless except with more features and an additional card slot inside.
hope i win today!
Don't know about you, but I'm kinda ready for this contest thing to be over. The purely "I want to win" comments are starting to ride my nerves.
I rather have a quad band gsm phone....Not a fan of CDMA......
I'm with Wilson on this one - notice how mostly girls are posting in other news items regarding the mobile giveaway? its doing my absolute nut in -- 70% of the people entering the contest will never return once the contest is over.
What are the chances that you could use a phone like this on Verizon? Their system doesn't support R-UIM, right?
I'll be roaming from China Unicom, which DOES use R-UIM cards.
Eh, I'm more interested in the new Moto that can do iDEN and GSM... I
Just an another "cool" "roaming" phone ... what about the i830 - CDMA nad dual-band !! GSM not working in the US .. ;) Go Samsung ...
