Sony Ericsson K790/K800 reviewed
Want a
review of the Sony Ericsson
K790/K800 Cyber-shot phone launched on Tuesday, we mean a real review? Well the kids over at mobile-review just
released the final installment of a five (!) part series on this tri-band GSM/EDGE cellphone (the K790 anyway) set to
hit the US in July. Yeah, the form factor is "acceptable" with both features and functionality all generally
impressive, and a screen that is vastly superior to the K750 -- or in the words of the editor, like going
from "old lamp TV-set to latest Plasma model." Ok, but what you really want to know is how did that 3.2
megapixel CMOS shooter hold up, right? They found the photos to be on par what "an average" point-and-shoot
digital camera with the caveat that this is still a phone first, and then a camera. So no manual focus, no ISO
adjustment, and image stabilization is only activated in one case -- document-mode. However, it does come with a proper
xenon flash instead of ordinary LEDs like most phones and the pictures are far superior to those of the K750. See the
images for yourself in part-three to
make your own conclusion. Overall, the reviewers believe the K790/K800 will be "a bestseller" -- we tend to
agree.

Thinkin about a common man. Building a high end phone and taking out new models everyday is really costly so why don't you find a way out where each and every hardware of the phone is present i.e., the P.C. or a laptop or a handheld so why don't you just slip a sim slot into it as they are also on the turning routes each and every day as it will save you cost of designing and connectivity and also a common has a very good option to buy this thing which has a lot more to give than a cell phone with limited features.
It's a nice phone but what would you do with a 3.2 megapixel camera ?!

It has a little of everything

ha well done...
the only concern i have (and this shows how good this phone is) is whether it still includes the regular light...
A Xenon flash is all great but I use the light on my K700i as a flashlight much more often than i take photos. It is really useful!

I agree with you peter, I love my w800i's flashlight, I use it all the time. however, the w800/k750 had LEDs, which could be turned off and on. A xenon flash cannot be just turned on, it has to flash.. and even if it was turned on, it would be ridiculously bright and suck the battery down very quickly, I predict sony will not have this feature, it would be kind of complicated to do this time. This is the feature I will miss the most in the w800

It's all very easy. All cam is only for increase of the popularity.
By the way all time I wait good phones model without cam, but alas :
I think the pone will be a smash hit. But, I was wondering... I change my mobile phone every year, but I change my handy-dandy point-and-shoot digital camera every 2 - 2.5 years. The cycles are at odds. I'll need and replace my phone, but not my camera in less than a year.
