If you're a member
of Verizon's over-the-air
V Cast Music club then
you'll be stoked to learn that PCMag just posted a review of the
Samsung SCH-A950 which they found to
be a "great phone" for said service. While they found the handset's V Cast interface to be "almost
painfully sluggish" and that
jog dial to be "tragically
underused" (a knock on the service, not the phone mind you) they still claim that V Cast is the "most elegant
and complete" musicphone solution available...today. However, this is a review of the phone right, not V Cast. That
said, they found the earpiece and speakerphone of the SCH-A950 to be "unusually loud and clear" and the 1.3
megapixel shooter to take "very sharp, if slightly dim" snaps. On the down-side, the EV-DO A950 can not be
used as a PC modem -- if that's your gig then PCMag recommends the
LG VX8100 V Cast phone. Overall, the A950
pulls a lukewarm rating of 3.5 out of 5.
