The form factor sucks, it has a big screen that you can't even touch wich makes it as useless as the Moto Q, and they are way too overpriced for the extremely limited functionality.

I've got the 8125 Cingular WinMo 5 PocketPC phone. I can do everything a Crapberry does, and more... Including type without hassling on a crappy treo-esqe keyboard. And TomTom Navigator 5 runs great on it... And my unlimited data is cheaper and much more useable.

Fark Blackberrys and the zelot followers they have created...

It is a 64MB device and is EDGE-capable. Blackberry users aren't idiots. By and large, they are mostly businesspeople who want a simple no nonsense solution. That means they don't need or want all of the features of a Windows Mobile device. They don't need a 2MP camera. They don't need to be able to interface with a GPS unit. And they don't necessarily need a touch screen.

What they need is reliable email push, and an interface that supports one handed operation. Your Cingular 8125 is a great device, but it is by no means possible to do all the things a blackberry can do with one hand. You mention the blackberry screen is non-touch. While someone used to PocketPC may think that is horrible, you really have to keep it in perspective. Putting a touch screen on the Blackberry would be 100% contrary to the one handed operation useage model. By definition, if you've got a stylus in one hand, and the device in the other, you're not one handed.

You think that the Blackberry sucks because you're clearly a PocketPC user. That's fine, but there is no such thing as a one size fits all model for every user out there. You seem to think that everyone should be using PocketPCs.

Like it or not, there are people out there whose usage models make the Blackberry a better choice than a PDA phone, but there are also other people where something like the 8125 would be just right.

There's no such thing as one size fits all. It's all about choice. Blackberry is just one choice, and the fact that it bothers you so much just shows that you are a zealot.

Now before you blast me and call me a Blackberry zealot, let me just say that I don't even own a Blackberry. The one handed operation is just what I need. I can navigate a website, excel document, calendar or anything else 10x easier with my scroll wheel than I ever could with my stylus.

All kinds of funny things happen: email messages become undeletable, the email goes into some funny mode where it tries to guess your next letter and it then takes you 5 times as long to type an email address. And this weekend the best yet was error message: 348.

No way to get the software to recognize the phone. Tried every conceivable combination with the Blackberry girl - battery in/battery out, USB in, USB out, enter command 2 times fast, etc.

What a joke. The people at Verizon all are trained to say, "They apologize." I'd like someone to throw a pie made of manure at their CEO. I pay Verizon over $1300 a year for this customer disservice. Wonderful. Take your network and shove it where the moon don't shine.
