i was browsing through the rokr e2 manual, and i found a mention of iTunes
"Airplane mode turns off your phone’s calling
features in locations where wireless phone
use is prohibited. You can use the phone’s
iTunes® music player and other non-calling
features in airplane mode."
I thought the ROKR E2 was out already. Boo. It doesn't have the visual appeal I vaguely remember it having when it was first announced. I was really excited about it originally. Not sure why, though it may have had something to do with A2DP support, and also the flash slot.
Goddamnit, I'm gonna go nuts waiting for the bloody k790a to hit the fcc. I don't think my current phone's gonna make it till july.
I have been so anxious to get my hands on the T709. It would be perfect if it only had bluetooth. I'm so addicted to the headset now that I can't imagine having a phone that didn't support it. (no, i don't run around with the thing attached to my head all the time). The draw of UMA is really appealing though. I get squat for reception in my neighborhood.
To the first poster, bear in mind FCC disclosure manuals are often incorrect about feature sets. They really are only meant to disclose the wording of SAR/RF disclosures to the consumer, nothing else in the document has to be correct... often it's the last thing that gets written for submission to the FCC so they use an old model (ROKR E1...).
That said, I would not be surprised at all if Apple is still negotiating iTunes support in the E2.
thanks for raining on my parade christopher. i find something interesting in the manual that i figured was an e2 feature and you go and ruin it for me. o well, we can still hope. i know i'd love to be able to get this phone on cingular with iTunes when our contract is up in september because my v551 is gettin really beat up.
