Motorola "Capri": the real RAZR slider?
The Motorola rumor mill is in
full grind mode lately, with word of an impending slider version of the RAZR, called the "Capri," coming hot on the heels of the
"Canary" photos that have been fluttering around
lately. According to Cnet's Alpha blog, the quad-band GSM Capri will be no thicker than the SLVR, sport a "high-resolution" CCD (what that means for
cameraphones is unclear -- 1.3 megapixels? 2.0? 3.2?), and also a TransFlash slot, probably for storing tunes. Although
no pics of this rumored model are available yet, Cnet speculates that it will be quite similar to the Korea-only MS600 (pictured, also referred to as the "RAZR slider), which
is a bit thicker than the SLVR but takes many of its design cues from the trusty RAZR.[Thanks, Hitechy and Corey]

i just saw a commercial for this http://www.buf.fr/WORK/project.php?id=762 .
they should call this one the SCZR...huh huh? Thats good, you know it.
any price estimates????
agree with #2 :-P
You can find a product page for the phone (complete with Yao Ming) on Motorola's China site: http://www.motorola.com.cn/z1/
i don't know any chinese, but watching that flash video on the moto china site, i managed to catch that it's a 2.2 megapixel camera, and that screen res is 240x320. not exactly that hi-res, but i don't know what phone resolution usually is. it says MP3 a couple times, and i believe it claims to be 14.8 mm thick. the slvr is thinner than that, but i don't have a number.
and travis, you're probably right, what with all the promotional material having the phone slice through things. either the SCZR or some 4 letter standing for blade. who knows. SCZR is clearly the standout idea though...
just wait until motorola knocks on your door trying to say you leaked trade secrets...
#7: It's Moto, not Apple ;)
and why yes, that was a burn :p
I remember one guy commenting on how he worked for Motorola and had seen the "Canary" headset along with a slider not called the Z, but the "Capri." He also said that new RAZR spinoff designs have been churning out on a very quick schedule, I have reason to believe him. If you read this post, elusive Motorola worker, could you comment back on this topic?
