Keepin' it real fake, part XXVI: Fake W810i adds touchscreen
Looks like these fakesters really went the
extra mile in ripping off Sony Ericsson's W810i
musicphone. Sure, the music playback is sluggish, the MP4 support is nonexistent, and instead of the advertised 3
megapixels the phone camera offers 1.3, but this sketchy device discovered in Hong Kong does include a little something
extra: a touchscreen. We're sure Sony Ericsson would be proud.

What's the track record on stuff like this really?
Excuse my ignorance, but do these things actually end up being used by people, and for how long?
Just curious.
Yeah, they get used. These phones run way cheaper than their authenthic counterparts while still looking the same.
Lasting long, however, is not their forte.
My mom has a K750 ripoff she bought in Viet Nam. VGA Camera, here I come!
edit: authentic.
Also, my mom's K750 has a built-in 32mb flash capable of playing mp3s. Kind of. Doesn't do it too well.
Um...take a look at the bulleted list on the left side of the package. Does that say MP*5*?
According to the box, MP5 means Karaoke- no chance of this coming out outside HK for that alone- imagine all the attacks that would result from this being in the wrong hands.
I thought the "original" W810i only goes up to 2mp?...
As the name might suggest, I live in Hong Kong, and being an Engadget reader I am into technology. I am wondering where you find all these fake phones etc. in HK, I never see them!
ok well...i have this phone...exact knock off...got it off of ebay...and well its kinda shitty...dont be scammed into buyin these they really will be a waste of money
How to unlock the games for the w810i
well it doesn't have mp4 playback but at least it does mp5
