Of 200 iPhone 3GS users polled in August, 2009, 99 percent termed themselves "satisfied," with 82 percent saying they were "very satisfied."

Maybe it's not so much an addiction to cellphones as much as to keeping in touch with people. That would explain the "lower self-esteem" part. I have lots of out-of-town friends I don't get to see often-- I'd definitely feel down if I didn't get to talk with them regularly, via cell, calling card, or transatlantic stringed tin cans...
