We've heard just about every date imaginable for the long-awaited launch of the Palm Treo 700p, so nothing will really shock us now. But according to CNET, the 700p is due to arrive next Monday, May 15th. That's nearly two weeks earlier than the
last rumored launch date we heard about, May 28th, but is consistent with
earlier rumors that pointed to a Sprint rollout next Monday. At this point, we won't be surprised if both dates turn out to be correct, with an announcement on Monday, and availability in Sprint stores on the 28th.

You already told us this over a month ago guys!!
I really think that May 28th launch date is bogus. Why launch on a Sunday...and the Sunday of a holiday weekend (Memorial Day)?
That makes no sense whatsoever.
Sprint launches most new phones on Sundays. I work at a major retailer and most of our new products launch on Sundays and big sales start on Sundays, the start of the retail week.
Palm's not beat yet--WM is too 'hard core' for the casual user, it's too much like a real OS on a real PC; a smart phone needs to be simple and preferably relatively stable (I'm farting in your general direction, PalmOS 5). In spite of being a little unstable after I install a few hundred programs, I went back to Palm after my Windows Mobile stint because it does the job of a cellular smart phone/organizer better than WM does, period. When I want a real pc the size of a phone, I'll go back to Windows.
The PalmOS in it's current iteration should be laid out to pasture. It's time is most certainly past.
Anyone who says the Palm OS is more "stable" than WM needs to really re-evaluate that statement. The OS is so patched up based on it's old architecture that reliability went down the tubes along time ago.
Just ask Peter or Ryan how stable the 650 was for them.
At this point who in the hell cares...? I'm content with my Windows MDA, tweaked to perfection...
The 700w for Sprint is what I'm hearing (from CompUSA) is still planned to release as soon as mid to late May 2006. I don't think Wifi is a part of the package, but increased memory (128 MB) and 1.3 pix camera is. I haven't heard if EVDO high speed connection is a part.
I have found informant of HP's Ipac MSm 2003 one of the most powerful programs I have ever used in a mobile device. I hope the Treo 700w can come somewhat close to what this calendaring/contacts/alarms/notes/tasks program offers.
Making Palm more compatible with MS programs sounds like a smart move to me.
