We
knew this phone was US bound, and while it might not have the whiz-bang aspect of their recent
T509, Samsung's new T609 for T-Mobile might do the trick for a few world roaming flip enthusiasts. The 0.88-inch thick clamshell has a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 playback, video capture and playback and Bluetooth functionality. The phone can also do world roaming with quad-band GSM radios, and EDGE data ability. Sadly, while the camera-free yet incredibly skinny T509 is going for a mere $50, you'll have to spring $150 to get the T609.
The T509 actually has a vga camera...
What does it take to be a contributor here? This site actually spoke about the t509 a few weeks ago. Yes, the t509 has a camera. They should read their own site for info before posting a story. Sad.
Engadget Mobile Quote:
You'll probably recall that the ~0.4-inch thick t509 is a tri-band model that also features Bluetooth and a camera with 4x zoom (whose resolution is still unspecified, which almost certainly means VGA).
Dont you read your own articles?
yes, yes... you all caught them forgetting one of the features on one of the seven hundred phones they talk about... kudos, dudes. all three of you are, officially, huge dorks.
Eh.....the reason they know the T509 has a camera is prolly the same reason I know it has a camera. You sell the things all day, you tend to remember that it does.
