The million dollar cellphone
How much would you pay for "the Bentley of cellphones"? $1,000? $10,000? Try a cool million bucks. This one-of-a-kind quad-band handset by Goldvish sports a blinding 120 carats worth of VVS-1 grade diamonds, according to designer Emmanuel Gueit, and as you'd expect from a seven-figure phone, features such amenities as Bluetooth, a camera with 8x digital zoom, MP3 playback, FM radio, included 2GB memory card and an EDGE connection (though curiously no 3G option or WiFi -- it seems a million bucks isn't what it used to be). For those of you not willing to drop such an obscene amount of money on a phone that even the designer likens to a boomerang, Goldvish also offers several other diamond-encrusted 18k gold models in your choice of rose, yellow, or white, starting at a much more reasonable $25,600.

How about a $60 mobile phone set? Vast majority of Indians are using this kind of set and many of them pay even less than $10 for using the service. That is why perhaps within 2 years India will surpass USA in terms of mobile phone user base (http://www.southasiabiz.com/2006/05/india_surpassing_usa_as_a_mobi.html)
Really, many people are nuts to waste their money for such phones when they can do with just phone set under $100.
The idea of money and value is all an illusion.
Ugly and garish. What a waste of money and materials.
It's not a waste -- whoever buying this would simply be giving his money to the people making it, who'll then spend it and transfer it back to the rest of society.
I wouldn't buy it for a billion dollars if I had the money to spend - I think it's hideous...
...Costs more than a Bentley...
Let me thing... I can have this butt-ugly phone or a Bugatti Veyron. Or a Bentley Arnage T, a Continental GT Speed and a decent house... who in the hell would buy one of these? Please tell me that even 50-Cent is not that stupid.
