Ummm, well how could I be of help.
I have a Sidekick III.
I really like the scroll wheel.
I like Boris, a tamogatchi like spider in the phone.
The music plays well, but the speakers aren't loud enough.
It takes pretty clear photos, kind of slow shutter though.
The phone is slow, it takes awhile to process the simplest things, like scrolling through the main menu might induce some lagging.
god, i hope they don't keep those lame illustrations in the UI like they have now.
Boris (#2): Does this phone do anything a w800i can't?
from what i can tell, the upgrade everyone is psyched about is bluetooth and expandable memory - this has been standard in smartphones for years... how about WiFi? yes? no? if N93 has wifi, why shouldn't this phone? it'd be perfect for web browsing!
oh, right, they wouldn't be able to charge you for data... it IS a carrier-branded phone
btw this was meant to be an innocent non-flaming question, but i guess i got a little frustrated. sorry if it sounds to abrasive, sidekick fans. truth be told I am a t-mob subscriber and i love it
Excellent - Bluetooth ( with its default pairing code of 1111 ) will make it easier to extract Paris Hilton's data remotely.
Drsilverworm : WiFi dosnt necessarily mean free web browsing.. you need a place to do suck az thing. Tmo has unlimited plans, and you can be anywhere, including a toilet in Liverpool and surf the web without WiFi.
And as far as sonyphones go, most of their KBs, beaused their palm devices as sucked for typing.... and I dont mean TEXTING.. I mean really typing. QWERTY style.

Most phones now do the basics, but not very well in my opinion. THe Symbian OS is the only other I would consider using besides Dangers OS. ITs simple and quick. Though, the egronomics of Symbian phones have not been something appealing to me - except for the recent E70, which I do want to try out :)
The Sidekick is an equally tempered egronomic communicator. In my opinion - above the so called smartphones. A communicator should allow the ease of input at all levels.. as well as connectivity. And this isnt just a reference to technology, but OS and application integration. I dont think there is another OS as well integrated as the Danger OS, and version 3 promises much more of this. But, we will see soon enough.
I completely agree Pez. Having gone from a sidekick to an MDA, what you gain in open flexibility (ability to install whatever WM5 apps are out there), you lose in usability, stability, elegance, and integration. The Danger OS and it's apps make for a great communicator experience. I can't wait for the SK3 and when i can ebay my MDA.
From the pics I've seen I just noticed that there is no speaker for the speakerphone on the back like the SK2.
Maybe they bundled the 2 speakers in one in the earpiece.
That menu is also looking pretty childish.
is it just me or does the menu bar seem to "grow" near the far side of the screen... maybe somebody can explain this?

#4. I don't know anything about whether or not the SK3 has WiFi or not, but I would think that having it would be a plus for T-mo. Because the Sidekick plan is an unlimited data plan already, having Wi-Fi would definitely be a plus since it would ease the bandwidth they wold have to send down. Just my $0.02.
Boris doesn't have an SKIII. First, they haven't been released or even announced yet. And second, they don't have a scroll wheel like he said, they have a trackball.
Hey I own a Sidekick 3 and I just want to add some suggestions regarding applications that should be added to the sidekick 3. They should add a program that acts as recorder for people to buy. They should also add an even better flashlight application that allows you to use your camera flash as a flash light. It would also be convenient to add an application for Microsoft Word. It would be really resourcefull with todays modern businesses and college and high school students. A program for Windows Media Player would also be a great application and no matter what the price was it would be owners of Sidekick 3's would buy it anyway. If programs such as those listed were made, the price wouldn't matter much because people would buy it anyway. Thanks for your time. I would really appreciate it if these comments were seriously taken into consideration and sent to the people who can make the appropiate actions.
