FWIW, I saw this in a Cingular store this past weekend (June 3, 2006). It was just a display but they said they expected their first shipment of them in a couple of weeks. They also seemed to think it COULD be used on a contract, but if they're going to be offering a pay-as-you-go data plan in addition to the pay-as-you-go phone plan, I'll probably be better off with that.
I've been wanting a truly pocket-sized phone since forever - one that not only fits in my pocket but doesn't make it bulge out. Looks like I may have one soon.
I've never been a Cingular customer, but this may bring me over.
