I actually like the diction and syntax of the Engadget Mobile [and other Weblogs, Inc. sites] writers. It adds a certain...character that is entertaining to read.
While I agree that there is a serious lack of proper English in today's society [when people use "4" instead of "for" or "2" instead of "to", it irks me like no other...], I think the writers here fit the overall character of this and its sister sites.
