The Q is based on the Windows Mobile SmartPhone OS, not the Windows Mobile PocketPC OS. The Smart Phone OS was not even designed to include full qwerty keyboard on the phone.. Fortunatly the Q added the qwerty keyboard making it much easier to use, but the limitations of the OS still prevent Word/Excel/PowerPoint from being included.

Andrew

Comments on Rejoice, for Motorola Q's AKU2 update is at hand

If I can edit documents on my six-year-old Palm, I should be able to edit them on a 2006 Windows SmartPhone.

To say it can't edit documents because it isn't designed to edit documents is circular reasoning at best. As of Aug. 31, Verizon was not offering nor supporting Dial-Up Networking on the Motorola Q to customers in Southern California. I can not understand why Motorola rolled out this update if its only U.S. carrier can not take advantage of one of the features.
