BlackBerry Pearl 8100c and Samsung SGH-i607 coming to Cingular?
This one's a little difficult to explain, but it would appear that a Cingular developer's site of some kind is under construction at a design firm's domain, and in it they show with some accuracy their 2006 roadmap, including two new devices we hadn't yet seen coming to Cingular: the BlackBerry Pearl 8100c (due Q4) and the Samsung Blackjack SGH-i607 (due Q3, which will be ending in short order). The specs on the quad-band Pearl look to be in place and has that tweaked appearance, and the i607 pictured retains the i600's front-facing camera, as well as quad-band GSM / GSRS / EDGE / HSDPA data, and Bluetooth; of course, we knew the Pearl was headed to Cingular, but the Blackjack will make a nice little addition to the cadre of Q-killers making their way to the states.
P.S. -Oh, and the 8525 is listed as Q3, too. Big surprise.
[Thanks, Jaybo]

hey thanks guys! i sent you this tip on here for the samsung and the 8525 yesterday but got nothin. last night when i was on, the pearl wasn't on there yet.
wheres the love engadget?
So, did anyone else notice that the 8500 specs page it links to lists a mini-sd, rather than micro-sd? Is this a typo, or another Cingular change?
Noce model!
whats the difference between the 6100 & 6107? I don't see wifi, is this it?
the pictures of the 8525 show a front camera too unlike what the general consensus has been saying.
Did anyone notice on the "Internet-ready phones" list they have the KRZR K1, a new Samsung phone with HSDPA/Windows Mobile (a flip phone), and the Sony Ericsson W300i and W810i? I'm sure there were a few others...
Anyone notice there's no camera or removable media for 8100c? Must be why it's coming out so soon after T-Mobile version....
paul, you're right. But more than that, look closer at the buttons, the way they're flat.. it's a TyTn, the Herm200, not the Herm100 that we've been told Cingular chose.
So, I think that either this developer is using old materials, or it's a fake. Either way, I don't see how we can trust any of the info on the page.
Samsung SGH-i607 is quad-band?! Sweet.
I'm with Jeremy here. I think all this info. is either false or just outdated.
Also, Ryan assuming you are referring to the i600 and i607, the difference is the 850mhz band and WiFi
So close! Why did they chose to leave out the Wi-Fi? Does anyone think that it will be just be disabled and a registry hack will en-able it? Also, any word on the other goodies such as the pod-cast, RSS reader, click-wheel, etc?
I love how another site (can we mention their name? partly rhymes with Moto...) is claiming Cingular has "announced" the 8500 and 8525 and then link to these developer pages!
Imagine my excitement when I saw the the headline in the Google alert, and my disappointment when I saw their source...
More importantly, when is this phone coming to VZW? I'm tired of my 7250 and if Verizon doesn't step up their offerings soon I'm going to jump ship.
I'm just waiting for the Blackberry Pearl to come to Cingular. Why won't they just announce a launch date?
Does anyone know exactly when it will be released for Cingular?
Why does cingular have perfect marketing towards fashion enthuasiasts who like to purchase on impulse rather than people who like to do research on their products insureing quality products and informed decisions. This is what frustrates me.
I'm definitely dropping my VZW 7250 as soon as the Pearl is released onto Cingy. Already have my voice service (and the SWMBO's) on Cingy; best thing I ever did. And I WAS a loyal Verizon customer since before they were Verizon (AirTouch).
Can't wait for that drop...and in all actuality, Q406 is fairly accurate, assuming that Tmo's exclusive expires in 3 months...
