Nokia E62 (finally) hits Cingular
Well, it sure took them long enough, but Cingular has finally gotten around to rolling out Nokia's biz-centric QWERTY phone, the E62. Luckily, the price is right: going for "as low as" $150, as expected. At 0.5-inches thick, and with a well-sized QVGA screen, the E62 isn't totally weak-sauce compared to its E61 high-end predecessor, but it does lack the fancy WiFi and UMTS of the E61. Plenty has already been said about the specs (EDGE, Symbian 9.1, the like), so we'll spare you this time around. You should be able to nab this one September 29th -- none too soon, to be sure.

OK, now I see why people are willing to pay extra for the E61 with wifi...Cingular's data plan is highway robbery! A few months without the data plan and the phone pays for itself. I guess that's the one good thing about Sprint, cheap data...
Highway robery? WTF??? The phone is only $150 compared to what Sprint has? $500 Sprint is the robber here.
Hawk, please read my post closer, talking about the data plans there. $40 vs $15 a month. Sprint doesn't have a comparable phone to the E62 (maybe the BB 7130e?) unless they get the Motorola Q. If you're thinking of the Treo 700's, Sprint's not far off from Verizon's price.
The only thing Cingular forgot to do today: ANNOUNCE THE 3125 (HTC StarTrek)!
I really wish they would release it already.
I have the Nokia E61 and love it. However, I can see that the Nokia E62 is aimed at a different market and I think it will be a great success. Can't go wrong with that pricepoint!
CDMA sucks.
