Mine has a 2 megapixel camera though. I'm suprised the K1m only has a 1.2 mp camera. I do like how the K1m has heat activated multimedia controls on the faceplate, although it will cause more fingerprints then the version without those controls.

The front display is made of Quartz if you didn't know. It's definitely a fingerprint magnet but I keep mine in a soft sunglass case so it stays clean.

Jared

Comments on Motorola K1m coming soon to an Alltel store you

iLounge had some RAZR/KRZR pix the other day, and there's been plenty more around the web recently.

http://backstage.ilounge.com/index.php/backstage/comments/8647/

And Verizon Wireless is in the USA only -- though it is 45% owned by Vodafone of the U.K. The blue KRZR in the pictures is the GSM version, while the black one (VZW, Alltel, and Sprint) is CDMA. Maybe the bluetooth is updated, but this just may be a RAZR V3m with a new body and new UI and that's it. The external music controls are pointless and worthless too, because its the GSM version that actually has more expandable memory. This can only go to 1 gig, the KRZR K1 can go up to two. Why the hell does Motorola always have to be so goddam stupid? They release the V3c last year, then they re-release another RAZR with the V3m over the summer, now we're all getting yet another RAZR. Thank god Im too poor to buy a new phone unless Im eligible to upgrade, because if Id wasted my money on either one of those stupid pieces of......

Moto needs to stop ganking people with these crappy specs too. I dont know what it is about all these CDMA phones constantly getting 65k color screens and all the GSM phones getting 262k color screens but quite frankly, Id rather have the body of the KRZR K1 with the Verizon Network and the 3G awesomeness of VCAST and WITHOUT the external music controls and inferior camera/screen quality. Moto needs to get their act together. This was supposed to be the next RAZR, the next gen RAZR and all it is, is a freakin RAZR V3m with a new body. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I'll still stay with Verizon for now, just because both Cingular and T-Mobile have been laughably bad at deploying their 3G networks and probably upgrade to this KRZR K1m phone in october but it really should be more comparable to the RAZR K1, especially for the price!

Gag

Comments on Motorola K1m coming soon to an Alltel store you

Wow Gag, nice little diatribe there. They have to seriously mass produce the GSM version of the phone, because there are 2 billion+ GSM users. CDMA users don't reach 300million. Not to say they'll sell that many, but proportionally, more effort will be placed in their GSM products. Verizon had to beg for a CDMA version and they got it. Verizon's lucky enough Motorola isn't like SonyEricsson or Nokia, which refuse to make CDMA products (so far). The major markets that use CDMA are USA (Sprint+Verizon) and South Korea.

CLShortFuse

Comments on Motorola K1m coming soon to an Alltel store you

David, stating the truth does not make it a diatribe. As for the GSM-CDMA realities, you tell me how much sense it makes to make two different forms of a phone for two different kind of networks? Either make the KRZR K1 have the same specs or upgrade the K1m and then let the software be different or whatever the differentiation between CDMA and GSM really is. Moto doesnt really have the luxury to place priorities on certain markets, people are gonna be pretty tired of the "thin is in" trend and then Moto is going to have to start begging carriers to take their phones. Where the heck were they before the RAZR anyway? Same place they'll be AFTER the RAZR. CDMA users dont deserve to be sold short, even if they're smaller as a group. And if you think GSM users have it nicer or something, the V3i is basically a waste of time, so that's not true. Besides the inferiority of a 65k color screen, the V3m is a better phone than the V3i. This is the first time CDMA users are really actually getting shafted. Moto's market prioritization is inconsistent and therefore, irrelevant. If I have to pay 200 dollars for this phone for a 2 year contract, it better be a premium product. A 1.3 mp camera and a 65k color screen is not indicative of a premium product, its the equivalent of least common denominator something in Korea, Japan, or China. We're not as dumb as we look Moto, quit making your phones the lowest common denominator and charging premium prices.

Gag
