Of 200 iPhone 3GS users polled in August, 2009, 99 percent termed themselves "satisfied," with 82 percent saying they were "very satisfied."

i think its a smart move. get it out to market, then make your already happy users happier down the line when their GPS works.. at least for the early adopters. looks like a freakin' sweet phone.
