This phone looks great, however. BIG BUTTONS. I LIKE BIG BUTTONS. I had the 8300 and one of my biggest gripes was the tiny tiny tiny buttons on the keypad. BIG SCREEN. QVGA awesomeness. This phone basically reminds me of a nicer LG VX8300, an absolute tank of a phone that I liked a lot. I don't mind big phones; the bigger the phone, the bigger the battery, right?

Please let this phone be bug-free. Please let this phone have crystal-clear reception like the 9000. I was able to convert a 30 minute TV show I had in .avi format to .3gp format using WinAVI for iPod/PSP (converted the video to 1/3 it's size and makes it a perfect quailty for small screens). I tried playing the original .avi on it but the sound and video were out of sync. I also put the converted video that I put on the M1 on the Fusic. The Fusic was choppy so I had to convert it lower for that device. Seems the processing in the Sanyo is way more powerful than what LG put into their phone! People were very shocked at the video quality of this device.

The music sounded great coming out of the speakers of the phone. The bluetooth works great. Sent/received files (music files) from another device with no problems. Found out that this device will have the capabilities to become a remote control via bluetooth also.

Another cool thing about the media player is that you can, of course, go widescreen AND you can minimize the player so you can do other things on the device (send text messages, go to your phone book, etc) without interupting your music! The only thing that pauses the music is the camera and the phone. I operated the camera and the music paused, exited the camera and the music resumed. NICE. You can access the media player while the device is closed with the controls on the lid.

The default Sprint theme is beautiful with a 3D Sprint logo floating across the screen. The menu is cool with a 3d pinwheel floating in the background with an icon of menu selection in the pinwheel fins spinning slowly.

Camera is 2 megapixels. Beautiful pictures and video. No special charger required. Uses the old Sanyo standard pin charger that's on the bottom side of the device allowing you to use a USB cord and charger at the same time. BUT I found that when connected via USB, it was also charging the device at the same time. It's about as thick as the 7400 which is not that bad but it's lighter than the 7400.

Another plus is that this device has Groups in the Contact list. I've had my 7400 for a while and I don't know if Groups are in any later devices but this is a most welcomed feature for me.

The only downside that I had was that you can't add an SD card for additional memory. I filled it up pretty good with media tho. Maybe converting the .mp3s down to a lower rate could help.

I am a big Sanyo fan and fell in love with this device. I had no issues with it at all. I really did try to put it to the test. This device will put the Fusic to shame!]]>Oct 31st 2006 10:17AM
