Nokia serves up FP1 theme to S60 3rd Edition users
While upgrading that Nokia E62 to S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 might be nothing more than a foolish dream, the mothership is still doing what it can to help you keep your eyes from straying toward that N95 for just a little bit longer. Nokia has made the "Turquoise" theme (which will be used on all FP1 devices) available as a download for all phones running the elder 3rd Edition platform, and while it obviously won't give your phone any new functionality, it'll spruce up that look and feel so you can fool your friends and family into thinking that Nokia gave you some super-secret FP1 update package. Reviews have been mixed with some users reporting that the white portions of the theme's background introduce problems for readability in some apps, but hey -- that's the price we pay for living a lie.

wow guys, talk about old news.
Mike,
Thanks for the comment. Occasionally, we'll throw in a story that may not be today's (or even this week's) news, but is still absolutely relevant and is worth calling folks' attention to. Case in point: though we're guessing from your comment that you've already heard about this theme being made available, we're sure there is a good contingent of E61, E62, N80, etc. owners who haven't.

Wait, n95? Do you guys know for sure it's coming to the states??
Thanks, guys. I, for one, didn't know about this. Some of us can't hang out on Howardforums all day, so keep the info coming whenever you get it.
could someone point out to me what nokia's stand is on these software upgrades - will they or will they not in general be available to the older phones or not? ie, i'm really frustrated that nokia chooses not to give a straight answer about whether or not the "old" n80 will be upgradeable to the n80ie (if it EVER will be released...) i mean, they must know, so why not tell? or am i missing some important piece of information somewhere?
