Motorola "Norman" (aka Q Pro) in the flesh
We've suspected that an upgraded Q (sometimes referred to as the Q Pro) was in the works, and it now looks like a Hungarian operation has managed to score the first live shots of the ultra-anticipated device. Bearing a Vodafone logo on its posterior, it seems safe to say that the smartphone (codenamed "Norman" of all things -- though the original Q's "Franklin" wasn't any better) is destined for Europe; whether it'll make the jump to US shores remains unknown, but we'd love to see this monster live to do battle against the i607 "Blackjack" on Cingular in the coming months. The Norman's spec sheet is mostly speculation at this point, but besides support for UMTS and HSDPA, it'll rock a flattened keyboard (directly addressing a major complaint of the original) and a 2 megapixel cam. If we close our eyes and click our heels together three times, it might pack WiFi too -- but no promises.

It doesn't have two cams, does it?
How is a flattened keyboard better? Seems like it would give me an even better opportunity to fat finger the damn thing.
That thing is ridiculously ugly.
One of the ugliest phones I have ever seen! That thing is truly hideous!
I have the "first Q" and I'd take it over this one anyday. This thing is hideous. Although it does seem to be verizon colors so it might make the Atlantic jump next year. No one will buy this unless its WiFi, which is the only downfall of the first Q.
Definately a version of the Q Pro coming to VZW in the very near future. Original launch was supposed to be towards the end of this month, but as always when it comes to cell phones, that date could be pushed back.
Did anyone notice...at least with the engineering sample...it doesn't have a scroll wheel either.
Uhh timc... Vodafone doesn't use CDMA, they use UMTS/EDGE. If any US carrier gets this it will be Cingular.
it also looks "fatter" than the original - may just be the lighting. And it looks like they ditched the scroll wheel as well - maybe a touch strip like the HTC Excalibur?
this Q is fugly!!!
i see a front facing vga in the first pic. this thing is truly atrocious!
This is one fugly device.
