Rogers unwraps some Chocolate
Ah, the Chocolate puns never get old, do they? Canada's Rogers is next up to experience the joys of LG's glamorous slider, this time in TG800 trim -- a model that looks entirely more like the original (and, in our humblest of opinions, most attractive) KG800 variant than the most well-known North American Chocolate, Verizon's VX8500. We can't tell for certain from the crappy photo on Rogers' site, but on top of retaining the KG800's d-pad layout, it appears that it also carries over the nifty checkerboard pattern on the numeric keypad that was conspicuously missing from the VX8500. Best of all, having been picked up by Rogers, this thing almost certainly packs a quad-band GSM radio. Our Canadian readers can go grab one now for $150 CAD after rebates on a three-year indentured servitude agreement.

There are no these precisely will not grow old!
Telus picked up the VX8500 two weeks ago, sans QVGA display. It wouldn't shock me if the Rogers release also skimped on a few features that made the Chocolate so popular south of the border.
You will see this handset from Fido as well, Fido is Rogers subsidiary brand
The Rogers website lists it as NA triband - 850/1800/1900.
NO QUADBAND FOR YOU.
Poor Telus, punked again. Telus releases a piece of chocolate that accidentally got left on a car dashboard on a hot summer day (AKA LG 8500) acting like they have landed the coolest phone in the world for Christmas this year, now Rogers less then 2 weeks later releases the original that they kept safely refrigerated so it did not melt before unwrapping.
When will Telus ever learn, either get the Brazilian LG MX800 (looks just like the original Korean model) or don't bother. You'll just be made to look like the posers that you are if you release the hideously mutilated Verizon models.
Telus does have one substantial advantage: a memory card slot.
Props to Rogers for releasing *this* chocolate...versus its ugly sibling. This, BB Pearl, k790a, w810i, and the upcoming KRZR, Rogers has a serious line up this holiday season. Not to mention the memory card promo they're doing as well.
