With all the
hype around Cingular and its
release of the BlackBerry Pearl, we thought it would be only fair to throw more fuel on the fire. According to
BlackBerry Forums member
walds11 is that T-Mobile has an exclusivity agreement with RIM that is going to expire December 1, 2006. Yes, that's right that date is less than three weeks from today. We really don't think that Cingular will fumble up the oppurtunity to have this device launch on the "
Nation's Largest Network" before Christmas. Then again, we think the same of the Treo 750 as well.
Its scheduled to be released the 13th, that may change but thats what our marketing material says!
249.99 y 2yr -50$ mir or 444 w/o Contract, I guess it launched today! should be in stores soonish.
I was at an ITEC show and there were both Cingular and T-Mobile RIM people there. Of course the Cingular reps had the Pearl so I did get to play with a Cingular Branded Pearl.
I mentioned the November 17th date that has been thrown around and the rep said no, and of course being vauge I asked if it would be out in time for Christmas and they said yes. So this sounds like a nice date to make that true.
Of course the T-Mobile rep said there was no way Cingular would have it out this year, but he was more refering to the back end infrastructure needed.
Any ideas if the Pearl is coming to Verizon...? That would be an instantaneous purchase for me
Pearl for Cingular will launch on Dec 4th.
Verizon will not get the pearl. It was a GSM only developement.
