Verizon Wireless branded Pantech PN-820 pictures leaked

The estimated percentage of cellphones that were recycled in 2007.
The EPA estimated that of the 126.3 million cellphones disposed of in 2007, only 14 million -- about 10 percent -- were recycled. The rest? Landfill heaven. (source: EPA, July 2008)

Yep thats the guy. Go Roc.
Aw, man -- did it HAVE to have the external antenna?
Here's the $64,000 question, will it suck cause it uses Windows or will it suck cause it's made by Pantech?
Hmm I am still not sure what to think of a PDA flip phone....
fliPDA
will prob suck cause it is Pantech and cause it runs on Windows. Flip PDA...good idea. Made by Pantech, bad.
A flip PDA phone? How about the Samsung SPH-i500? I bought it when it came out a little over three years ago and they still haven't made a PDA phone with the same small, light form factor that runs decent software. Can't someone cram WinMo 5 (not smartphone... the full version) into a little clamshell?? Is that asking too much?
The device is very solid. I don't care for smartphone and its personal but so far i have had zero issues with it.
I sure hope Verizon doesn't give up on fliPDA's (nice coinage!) when this ole' lookin' thing doesn't sell. Even if you CAN replace the antenna with a cap or stubby without screwing up reception, it's still ugly. Why couldn't we get a CDMA version of the (HTC) QTEK 8500? Or something new and even sleeker? Please don't send me to Cingular....
I still haven't figured out why no manufacturer realizes that w/just a few tweaks you can add Windows Mobile to any flip phone. It is a Mobile Phone OS. I am salivating at the idea of say the LG 8600 with A little bigger internal screen and Windows Mobile for Smartphones or say a slightly snazier LG 9900 (enV) with Windows Mobile for Smartphone. Comeon!!!!
Has anyone seen this phone on a Verizon site?? It is the 19th and I haven't found it online yet.
Our Verizon Business Rep said the phone may not be available until Feb or March 07. Anyone else heard of a revised release date?
Did anyone notice the new clamshell blackberry? The Samsung t719 was released the same week as the BB Pearl-there were no commercials advertising the flip BB and as of 12-27, the t719 does not appear on the T-Mobile website under BlackBerry phones-You actually have to search under flip phones or call TM directly. I do believe there is a conspiracy against smart flip technology ;>) -whether MS phones or BB devices there’s just not a great selections under the flip category. I’d rather go back to a pager before carrying a brick-shaped phone…….
Hey i was at the local store 2 days ago. They got in 6 mockup phones (Pantech PN-820) and I got to check one out. Not a bad sized phone. Looks like it has an external antenna that re-tracks. The rep gave me a brouchure too. He wasn't sure when it would be out. Says the mock ups come about 1 month b4 relase usually.
You didn't hear it from me but...... you might wanna keep your eyes open this Friday. 2/2
I got a Samsung SCH-i630 when they first came out. My wife is still using hers. PDA flip phones have their uses. Such as when stored in a pocket or a purse. We have beeb waiting for this little jewel for quite awhile
oops, I meant the i600 which was when first Smartphone technology was coming out. Sorry for the typo but I obviously like to post multiple times in a row. ;-)
I bought the Samsung i600 when it came out and was disappointed in the sound quality of the calls. I bought this puppy 10 days ago and so far it looks like a keeper. The processor is fairly quick and so far no real complaints for Pantech. If it keeps my contacts and tasks for me I'll be happy. No GPS receiver as far as I can tell. That would have been nice.
