Some people don't think the same way. Like me, for example. I don't WANT to carry a separate MP3 player/PMP/camera/portable game console (really, if I need to pack light, I can't bring too much stuff- with some of the games I've seen for cellphone it'll satisfy me long enough) when I'm out and about, and if one cellphone will do it that's fine by me. Sure, you could take each thing separately, but have fun sorting out power adapters for each one. If battery life is a problem, buy a couple of spares (in my case, I can buy an external battery pack powered by AA batteries).
