T-Mobile Treo 680 pops up on Palm support
Ah, Palm's site -- a veritable (occasional) treasure trove of unreleased Treo references. Oh whatever, like anyone's really surprised T-Mobile's getting the Treo 680 at some point. We'd just like to know when, and whether they'll be exercising their option for many colors.

it also lists the treo 650, which t-mobile never carried.
My take: This doesn't mean that T-Mobile will actually take on the Treo 680 as its own product. I think Palm is just going to offer support to folks who buy unbranded Treo 680s off Palm's website, and who happen to be T-Mobile customers.
I like the way the both of you think. I agree with the both of your comments. I just hope that T-Mobile decides to carry some form of Treo in the near future.
I'd be surprised if T-Mobile ever offered another Treo. It has a huge hit on its hands with the Sidekick line, and it is clearly committed to the BlackBerry (It was the first to offer the Pearl). One of these is aimed at regular consumers and the other at business people. A Treo could easily seem superfluous to company execs.
I have 2 comments:
1. As was pointed out above, T-Mobile never carried the Treo 650 (which it lists on that page), and now that the 680 is out, I doubt they will get it in the future.
2. Look at the numbers listed for support -- the number for the Treo 600, 650, and 680, is T-Mobile's national Customer Service Number (the one for everybody - Palm, other PDA phones, or even "regular" cell phones) - it's not a Palm number in any way. Further, clicking on either the email or web links for support yield the following message:
"Technical support, repairs and customer support for T-Mobile Treo 600 smartphones are provided by T-Mobile. Please contact T-Mobile for more information.
