Samsung to release yellow Simpsons Movie phone
We've heard of releasing lappies and cameras based on major motion pictures, and we've certainly heard of getting films on your phone, but Samsung is partnering with 20th Century Fox to unveil a limited edition, yellow handset to commemorate The Simpsons Movie. Having potential to reach a cult-like status in the geek / cartoon kingdom, this still-mysterious phone doesn't yet have a fleshed-out spec list (nor a finalized design, apparently), but we do know that it'll be yellow in color, have a special Simpson's logo, and come "pre-loaded with exclusive The Simpsons Movie content." While we aren't expecting anything special out of the phone itself, we'll be interested to see the eBay value of these bananas come July of this year, and hopefully by then we'll know a good bit more about the minutiae. Click on through for a few more pics.

Top Phone looks mysteriously like the yet to be officially anounced for Verizon U740. THe other two phones yet other brand new models. Will each carrier get their own version? Sign me up for a Verizon Simpsons phone!
first one looks like the U740 for vzw, the second looks like a SPH M610 for sprint and the third looks like a SGH C417for cingular (and maybe T-mo?)
This isn't new. Samsung sold the phones from The Matrix too.
Way to bury the lead: The U740 lives! Any guesses when VZW will get around to releasing?

Nothing's cooler than when you still have that phone a year from now and the DVD's in the $3.99 bin at the video store. Is this type of thing market viable???
Ahhh... nothing quite as exciting as revisiting old news!
skyjet15 nailed all three models - fairly middle-high-end models for Verizon (U740) and Sprint (M610), and a cheaper stub-antenna model for Cingular (C417). (You'd think they'd release a yellow SYNC...)
But do we know more now about the eventual release of these phones, surely to be must-have for nerds everywhere (...who can't afford an iPhone)?
