Nokia's E61i, up close and shiny

Not a whole lot more info than we had last time around -- in fact, zero more info for anyone keeping track -- but we haven't managed to get close to the E61i before now. No real surprises here, and this is just a dummy unit, so we don't even have any screen brightness to assess, but hey, beggers can't be choosers, and those additional smart buttons and spiced up d-pad look promising, even if the phone for the most part seems relatively unchanged. I love my e62 -- just wish it was faster at opening emails and files.

I heard that Nokia just put out a software upgrade for the e61 which significantly increased the speed of the user interface...

Can anybody confirm that news? Is the upgrade applicable for the e62? If no, any news on upcoming softward enhancements for the e62?

I just did the RM-38 upgrade on my e61 and it is 3times as fast.

stupid question, but why can't someone hack this stuff and be able to install WM5 or WM6 now that its coming out? I mean I love this design of this phone, I don't like those other flip phones or slide-out keyboard, this fits my palm so lovely

wow loox great, I was just about to get the e61 but as this is coming soon I'd better wait! Good too that they made it look a bit darker, the e61 looks kinda cheap in a way.
