i have a copper treo 680, and i adore it! creamy-pukey? the colour is a bit more toned down than it appears on the website, really is metallic-looking, and it's definitely distinctive. i personally would've hated having to buy that drab grey thing. i think that makes them look dated more than anything. black ain't a whole lot better, either.
I also have a copper 680 and I love it. Everyone who see it thinks the color is cool. I agree with ethan that in real life it looks more metallic and coppery than orangey.
I bought a copper Treo 680 and I absolutely love it!
It's a pity that they don't sell it anymore.
It definitely stands out from the crowd.
Sweet! My copper 680's value just went up. Personally I love the colour and as the others have said, it has more of a metallic sheen than looking orange. I'd imagine sales of Crimson will go up.
BTW, wtf does Moto's layoffs have to do with Palm discontinuing a colour? So when Apple discontinued the gold mini, and Creative laid off people it was time for Apple to renovate? That whole sentence "Maybe the Moto... handsets, Palm?" is rubbish.
Love my copper Treo 680 and I wouldn't trade it for any other color!!
Runciter: Motorola's phone marketing strategy lately has been to release all kinds of colors for their phones (first silver, then black, then blue, then the inevitable hot pink, then perhaps a gold-plated Dolce & Gabbana limited edition, Product Red edition, Miami Ink Collection pink, etc., etc., ad nauseam).
One thought is that Palm discontinued the "copper" because it was a branding deal with Cingular, which of course "AT&T Wireless" won't want so much since they're trying to plow through another brand shift.
I have the 750 and I wish that came in the Orange, I think it's awesome
According to OTIVA, Cingular's warehouse management system, the Copper and Crimson 680s both have skus in the system and are on the way to the stores eventually.
The reason this is unavailable is that Palm, in a very interesting move, is discontinuing the sales of the unlocked colored 680s. The colored 680s are now moving into a exclusivity agreement with Cingular...I mean At&t
The copper color Treo 680s appear to be available again in Palm's online store (at least for now).
