Google Maps for now available on Windows Mobile devices
Users of BlackBerry and Palm devices have been enjoying getting detailed directions, traffic, and information through Google Maps, and now the software is being extended to another platform, Windows Mobile. Users can now visit the Google's mobile site and download the CAB file required for installation. Now only if we were able to get high speed data on our BlackBerry Pearl we wouldn't be so jealous. [Thanks, Sunny]

Did this work with GPS for palm? I never saw that before but it says it works for GPS in windows mobile. I dont have a bluetooth GPS device though so I can't say anything about it
This is going to work really really well on the 650 with EDGE.
Love it! Can we have something similar for GMail. THe java thing isn't bad, but the touch screen doesn't work.
I have the same question. The app is great. I'd love for the GPS to work without a external receiver. I have a Treo 700w with Verizon.
If it does work, which com port do I use. I could use some instructions if anyone knows.
Check out my post on how I got it working with GPS on my Treo 700wx with Telus:

Wow. Zippy. Much more responsive than Windows Live!Search Beta - the tiles just 'feel' like they load faster.
Thank you thank you thank you Google!!!!!
Got it working on my Hw6965 ipaq, GPS and everything. with you any problems at all.
I hate that the 8525 doesn't have built-in GPS. I don't wanna pay $100 for the receiver and another $10/month for unlimited use (or $5/month for 5 routes).
The google map works very well on Palm and Windows Mobile devices that have a touch screen. You can zoom in or out with a simple tap on the screen. You can also drag the map around to find nearby locations. Anyone has experience how the google map works on the Motorola Q or Samsung Blackjack?
@Treo Cell Phone Fan
With the Q, you can simply use keyboard shortcuts to zoom in and out. They are "I" for in and "O" for out. For panning, you just use the d-pad. Very simply, effective, and painless. Works great.
Downloaded it for the BlackJack. It works just fine. Loads fast and I'm not prompted to give it data access everytime like I was with the java app.
Think I'll stick to Windows Live search though - I like it's category based searching better - easier for searching while on the go.
Um oldd....been doing this since christmas on my Cingy 3125
I have a 8525 HTC phone, installed the compact framework, maps works, but track GPS location DOES NOT. I have a cellink BTG-7000 GPS receiever, whats wrong here? Anyone have it working on a 8525?
