Verizon's VCAST TV launch maps, pricing

Yeah, we guess Verizon is technically holding true to its March 1 launch date of its VCAST TV mobile television service, but the coverage leaves... shall we say, something to be desired. A tipster has managed to forward on rather detailed maps of the areas that'll be blanketed in tiny-screen entertainment as of tomorrow, and the list of launch cities reads something like this: Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle-Tacoma, Salt Lake City, Spokane, Omaha, Las Vegas-Laughlin, Albuquerque-Santa Fe, Portland, Jacksonville, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Wichita, Kansas City (Missouri), Denver-Boulder, Tucson, and Colorado Springs. As expected, the service will come in three flavors ranging from the $13 / month "Limited" plan to $25 for the "Select" hookup. "Planned future coverage areas" include Los Angeles, Atlanta, New Orleans, New York City, St. Louis, and Norfolk-Richmond, though no exact date is given; it's possible that Verizon and Qualcomm are hoping to iron out any bugs with smaller markets before jumping to the big dogs.

You guys are saying that Norfolk-Richmond is one of the upcoming launch cities for vcast mobile tv, that is not correct. It is Nashville, TN instead, the other cities listed were accurate.
So, is this similar to Cingular Video or MobiTV? Is it better? I doubt it's enough to keep me with Verizon, but I am curious about it.

#3. I see you have not been doing your homework. Mobi T.V and Media Flo is to totally different technology. Mobi T.V is sent over a data line like evdo or edge, or umts. It is a pre recorded show that they are sending down over the data line. Where Media Flo uses a T.V tuner in the phone, IT is live T.V , the phones have built in t.V tuners, thats why only certain phones can do this. You can turn your T.V at home to the same channel your phone is on. With no hiccups or anything, it uses a special signal. Which means you can have no signal for the voice and a signal for the T.V. I had the opp.. to play with the vx9400 at a verizon convention in houston. It works flawless, nothing like sprint T.V or Vcast or Cingular video. Houston is in the upcoming market. Telemundo owns the spectrum in houston that the media flo needs to run off of, So until verizon and telemundo works out the agreement Houston will not get it.I have pics of the phone if anyone like, that was taking by me.
