Sprint adding Treo "755p" mid-year?

Remember that Palm "Sherlock" Sprint talked up in its 1H '07 roadmap? Looks like we might be finally developing some concept of what it is -- and if the rumors are right, Palm OS fans have cause to celebrate. We've now received several independent tips (in addition to the Brighthand article here) suggesting that Sprint and Palm are prepping a so-called "755p" to re-up the 700p that's been kicking around for a while. Details are thin, but the model should lack an aerial (a la the pictured 680) and rock EV-DO data -- and as the "p" in the model number suggests, Garnet OS is in the cards. Brighthand is liking May 14 for a release date, which is a little earlier than our roadmap was showing for the Sherlock. But hey, if it wants to pop in a month early, we're totally cool with that.
Ok. I want one. Maybe it can lose a few more ounces, too?
It’s about time for an upgrade since the 700p came out last May. But this phone is nothing revolutionary, just another Treo without the antenna. According to Brighthand’s survey, Treo 750 is falling behind Samsung Blackjack in popularity. They need a revolutionary product to catch up, not just a revised Treo 700p.
In response to #2: I don't think that the Blackjack is necessarily better than the 750... A $200 price difference has a lot to do with that popularity rating, I'd assume. Also, Cingular has agressively advertised the Blackjack on TV, while I've never seen any commercial for a Treo device on TV.
Same here at VZW. The Moto Q far outsells the Treo 700p and w/wx combined and 95% of the reason is the vastly cheaper price of the Q. Throw price out of the equation and a Treo smokes the crap out of a Q.
who cares! palm is milking everything they can get out of these stupid treos! they will charge 600 bucks for lets say a treo 700. then add maybe if you are lucky 20 more megabyts of ram. then have the nerve to charge another 600 bucks! i'm never going to waste money on a treo again! they only way i would is if they made a treo with 500 megabytes of ram and a much faster proccessor. which is never going to happen.
let's just wait for the treo 701, 705, 710, 715, 720, 725, 730!!! 600 bucks a pop!! i guess palm thinks people are rich!!
