Sony Ericsson K850i spotted and detailed
Hungarian website Terminal.hu looks to have scored a couple of pics of Sony Ericsson's yet-to-be-announced K850i Cybershot handset, which appears to boasts some specs similar to the company's rumored "Sophia" device. The most notable of which is is the handset's front-and-center 5-megapixel camera with a xenon flash, which gets backed up by a second 640 x 480 camera if that's a little too much for you. Otherwise, the tri-band handset gets some impressive if not all that unusual specs, with QVGA display of unspecified size, GPRS and UMTS connectivity, and Bluetooth (with A2DP), but apparently not WiFi, as was rumored with the Sophia. All that's squeezed into a slim 4.6 x 1.9 x 0.5 inch, candybar-style package. While there's no word on an exact release date just yet, it'll apparently make its debut sometime this spring, with an announcement possible as soon as CeBIT this week.[Via Unwired View, thanks Staska]

The new SE phones are all pretty damn ugly.
Why do cell companies insist on making tri-band phones? Quad band can't be that much harder, can it?
I love the fact that it has a 5 megapixel camera and it looks decent, but that keypad has got to go. It totally makes the phone look ugly. Sometimes I think that Sony Ericsson has some of the ugliest keypad designs on their phones . . .
Here are the connectivity specs:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100
Can't cite my source, but it's right :)
How do you know this is 850? I wouldn't be surprised (but dissapointed anyway) if they did 900 for everywhere else first like they did with k800/k790 and then release an 850 version for us/US.
UGLY
why SE!? i would get this phone the moment it was out if it wasnt for its unbelievable UGLYNESS.
If they made Weird Round buttons on the K810i its likely those buttons are real...i also got a third close up pic of the keypad disconnected from the phone (or maybe the keypad Slides ??) so its likely that thise design is real but maybe it isn't the final one
They should definitely replace the keys with the W810i keys.
The backside is perfect. The enourmous looking screen is perfect, assuming it is actually enormous as it looks. The thinness is a great plus. 5.0mp, exactly what we speculated. I swore I'd never buy another joystick SE phone after the k790i, and it looks like I won't have to.
But why the hell do we have those stupid looking keys? I don't care what the keys look like, they NEED to be as comfortable as possible! Do SE engineers NOT send text messages?
