Color us impressed. We got our first shot at Helio's upcoming superphone today, and from the all too brief time we had, we think this thing is gonna pack a punch. The dual slide mechanism was extraordinarily smooth -- one of the smoothest we've ever felt. It's big, but not unreasonably so for a handset of its capability and form factor, and the software build seemed slick and stable (the messaging app was killer, in particular). Click on for the
Ocean in all its split-personality glory!
So when I drop $300 on this bad boy which company can i go with? I'm hope'n verizon cuz i'm under contract but i'm willing to jump ship for the right specs...
scratch that....was i the only one that didn't Helio was a service?
I'm interested to see how this fares in the reviews once it's been out for a while. I had the Drift for a few weeks and cancelled my Helio service shortly thereafter. The operating system, at least on the Drift, was a hodgepodge of random applications and half baked ideas. The Buddy Beacon and their (then) exclusive MySpace mobile, two of their most touted features, both had the potential to be really cool but completely sucked. The web browser was pitiful and the media player not much better. Nothing about the UI was customizable. It's so frustrating because they have such a powerful device, hampered by such an utterly useless OS.
T stands for DOPE.
This phone seems really awesome, but I wonder how thick it is compared to my gay SLVR...lmao
Saweet phone. I'm getting it.
i wanna win this thing guys!
