From what I understand, the main differences are that the MAXX has the bigger external display, autofocus and the external music controls. The 8700 will be a little smaller. From my experience, LG phones are generally more compatable with the Verizon network. I'm going with the 8700, provided the speakerphone is better than on the 8600, because I don't care about the music player, and the RAZR thing is a bit played out. Plus I'm liking the screen shots of the 8700 a lot better.
