Video: LG Prada phone complete interface walkthrough
We were lucky enough to get a little more extended look at LG Prada phone than your regular hands-on, and we have to say, we were actually pleasantly surprised. The smooth, glassy surface was far more reactive to our touch inputs than we might have thought, although if this is what the iPhone experience is going to be like, we might still shy away from the QWERTY input -- too messy. Still, we did a top-to-bottom interface walkthrough of this thing, so if you've ever wondered about the inner workings of the Prada phone, now's your chance to see it in action. Trust us, you won't be disappointed.

don't boot this phone in a dark room... that sound would scare the hell out of me!
I think the fact that disappointed me was the lack of virtual keyboard or a finger pad to type in emails and text messages. It fits itself more in the category of asthetically pleasing phones. But if your primary audience is business then it is a sort of letback and if it was meant for females then I guess I can't buy it :)
I love the interface. The video maybe would have been more useful to see you hold it like you normally would hold a mobile phone and use your thumb to navigate around. Just so you we might be able to imagine how everyday use of the phone might feel.
I'm kinda disappointed in the user interface. Nothing too exciting. I have a Motorola A1200 (Ming) which is a touch screen as well. The menu on the LG Prada looks like nothing special.
It's like a regular menu system that has touchscreen tacked on. There's nothing you can do if it had the dialpad as a slider. As in, if it had a slider the 12 buttons then the touchscreen could be disabled and not make a difference on the phone. All those functions that you can do could be mapped to buttons on the dialpad.
Now that I think of it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a phone with LED dialpad where the image on the button changes depending on where it is on the menu. THAT would be impressive. Not a bad idea, but who knows how much it'd cost. I guess the LED could be black and white. But back to the topic, LG Prada menu system needs work.
What's not to like...OH it's not available in the US market! Ah...the only reason I'm bummed and the only reason not to like livin in the good ol' U S of A!
Did anyone else feel like the Prada was just like any other phone UI tacked onto a touch screen?
How annoying it was that every single thing you do, it wants you to confirm your action, or it announces the confirmation of your previous action? 'Complete!' 'Digital has been activated!', 'Message Sent!', 'Settings saved!', 'Sky is blue!'
Also, it takes like a gabazillion clicks to navigate the through the abyssal menu heirarchy?
That was about the most boring walk through of a device that I've seen lately. Get a little familiar with the device before demo'ing it to the world. Made the usage look clumbsy.
is ther somebody know where i can buy it at lox price (wholesaler)?
thank you
