Telus launches HTC P4000?
Word on the street is that the HTC P4000 has allegedly landed at Telus Mobility in Canada. Although a perusal of the Telus website showed no evidence of the P4000 being offered as of today, we'd love to see the HTC Titan P4000 show up in some Telus stores or in a customer's awaiting hand real quick. If you're in Canada and have spotted the P4000 for sale, drop us a comment, would'ja? We'd love to see an HTC unit with Windows Mobile 6, full QWERTY and EV-DO Rev. A speeds. Verizon Wireless and Sprint customers -- this may mean good news soon, yes?[Thanks PocketGear]

I have a new HTC P4000 model TITA100 for sale. It was only used for maybe 3 weeks so the phone is brand new. Anyone interested? You can email me at hardworkingirl_78@yahoo.ca or call my cell at (403) 862-4429.
Here's the link for the upgrade to Mobile 6 that was provided by Telus support desk. It ends up in a dead end so far though. It leads you through a few steps to the HTC website which apparently contains no P4000 updates yet...

I just went to state, do not change this phone thru the USB if you do this everynight you will dystroy the battery very quickly 6-8 week's and the battery will be completly trashed will last minutes at the end, only change with the wall charger, now i've really tryed to find out if u have to use the Adaptor they send with this phone for usen the wall charger, im not usen it too charge with the wall charger and it seems to be ok, its takes about 2.30 hour's to fully charge with the wall charger, i will say this i did chanrge 4 times with USB with the adaptor cause i had to my wall charger was 30 miles away forgot it, but over 2 weeks i just had to charge it thru USB and adaptor and i noticed the first time i charged it it took about aslong as normal with the wall charger but on the 2-4th times it was take well over 30 hours so i unpluged it and it was only at 90% charged and i just put wifi on and drained it 8 hours straight Wi-Fi connectivity, but i think i got lucky cause i got my wall charger back today and it only take 2.30 hours too fully charge again and i got insane wifi time today normally.. i was getting 10-11 hours heavy wifi use but today i got over 15 hours of basic straight wifi all day, i dont recommand u charge ur P4000 thru the USB an adaptor but it seems too of made my battery hold a charge better i'm probably just really lucky like i said earlier, but i wish there was sum info if u have too use the Adaptor well charging thru the wall charger, i do notice the end of the wall charger plig where it goes into the phone is designed for the adaptor which P4000 comes with and the adaptor male peace is designed for the phone port, but i bought this phone used guy said he used it for 8 months or more, very good shape tho, when i got it 4 weeks ago it was 10.10 about 9.6 now but everything still seems golden, but be nice too know if u should be usen the adaptor well charging with the wall charger and phones off ?? anyone know this ??? Amazing phone tho, if u load the free 6.1 ROM for this phone it doesnt lag, this phone has a better processor then the TyTN 1 or TyTN 2, tytn 2 (Hermes) has MSM7200 400Mhz dual, the P4000 has the MSM7500 400 Mhz processor i would say its probably a better newer processor, and believe it or not this phone has a Full gpsOne GPS Chipset in it, you just need TOMTOM6 etc and it will go into Stand Alone GPS mode on its own from A-GPS Asisted GPS which uses cellular towers and EVDO 3G or Wi-Fi too only make the GPS so this means u need unlimited Data plan, get TOMTOM 6 etc for Windows Mobile 6.1 and GPS is totally Free, this phone is way better then a TyTN 1, tytn 1 is heavy, this P4000 is so light it's crazy, amazing looking phone in person just something really different and better looking about it in person, the picture that on the BOX and in sum pix isnt the same size as this phone, take a look at the phone in your hand and compare it too the pic on the box, pics dont give this phone real justice till u see it in person, Over all this phone ROCKS no skype and there is a SRS Wow Driver that works perfect, but i lost it and dont remember its file model bunch of SRS Wow versons out there for Pocket PC, but i honestly think thias phone can live wiothout em i want both but i honestly dont feel like i care to much would been much more pissed if the TyTN 1 pro had, had that issue, i highly recommand this phone.
It was announced to dealers on Friday. Unfortunately it looks like it's shipping with WM5, not 6. I'm not sure why.
good ol dave evans from hofo already has one, so does one other user. looks like WM5 and Rev O, and promised upgrade to Rev. A in the future.

hopefully telus will give p4000 users the upgrade to wm6 as well
Isn't the HTC P4000 a CDMA version of the HTC P4350? Not the HTC TyTn?

It's def not the CDMA version of the TyTn. I don't know if it's the P4350 or not.
Supposedly the delay getting it to Sprint/Verizon is that they are waiting for Rev A (and hopefully WM6?)
There was a Telus flyer in today's paper. The HTC P4000 is $200 CND on a three year term.
I played with this device at a Telus store on the weekend, very nice! I liked the way the keyboard slid out and the feel of the keys was great. It's antenna does not protrude like most CDMA devices and specifically like the PPC6700. Suprisingly it was running WM5 and unfortunately it doesn't have GPS. I think I'm going to buy this one.

I have it, works ok, mp3s work great, slow browsing internet, freezes sometimes, m.s. makes it normal.
blue tooth jabra bt320s head set isnt loud enough to hear person at other end. MSI ft200 is the same.
Doesnt except divx movies on it. I also purchased a 2gig card. Still pretty cool device, text messaging is a breeze, voice tag is also easy to set up.
Got mine in Pickering town center, they have lots.
i bought one last thursday and i love it. the camera zoom sux thats about it oh and telus doesn't carry car chargers yet...
Cool Phone/PDA.
I got one on Friday and got the week end to play with it. I downloaded and install a bunch of apps for it and managed to crash it a few times... Just hit reset and your back in action after a 2 minutes reboot delay.
I think the CPU is still pretty slow for a DUAL core. there is really not that much storage for Applications on it, too bad. I haven't got it filled yet but i don't think it will take me too much time.
THere are a lot of Pocket PC apps out there for those devices but they are not all compatible with this processor.
Here are some good software addons:
WisBar Advance, MiniMo (mozilla mobile), Opera, Resco Today Plugin, Google Maps (WOW!!!).
I think the biggest PLUS with this device is the WIFI card. When ever I have wifi available I can use that to browse the internet, check my emails and more. All this without using any of the 4 MB (HAHAHA!!!) that comes bundled with the $25/Month data plan.
So far my only complaints are I can't call a house phone with Skype through WIFI. It connects but I can't hear or be heard. The phone portion of it works fine but it takes some getting use to, the buttons are soft keys. Another one, the "Y" adapter. This is probably the biggest flaw. To charge it, you can use the USB Power adapter or the power out of your computer's USB but you need to use the HTC Y adapter to interface between to regular MiniUSB and the proprietary HTC USB connection... WHY?
That's it for now...
I got one last week and so far I like it, but find that the vibrating feature isn't great. You can hardly feel it vibrate. As well, the earpiece volume is pretty low. The wi-fi feature is great!!
Just to respond to Frenchie's comment... I think the Y-adapter is only if you want to charge it and use the wired headset at the same time. I connect the device to my computer with the USB cable that came with my digital camera and it works just fine. Just a thought! :)
I am looking for a device that shows my calendar items on the main interface? i have the nokia 6265 and was looking at getting a PDA phone. does this have that feature, or do you have to go into the calendar to see the list of appointments?
i can't figure out how to set my ringtones to the ringer when i bluetoothed it over from another phone.
I also cant find the data that was bluetoothed over either.
