What I can't understand is why the demographic who really want these decent phones doesn't complain more than it does - I can see how all the techies have gone mad for the iPhone, but there's not that big of a fuss over it in the UK from what I can see because we've had phones that can do what it does for a while now (and are a LOT cheaper). The size of the US market makes me think that carriers would try to bring innovation to their customers because they'd get lots of profit from it.

Plus, there seems to be this entitelemt attitude amongst Americans who sign a 2 year agreement... many feel that they are "entitled" a free or dirt cheap phone by their provider for a 2 yr contract.

I look at it more as a "if this is the phone I am gonna have for possibly 2 years I would rather spend the money on a decent one" but sadly the rest of this country does not see it that way. Then they piss and moan when their $20 phone doesn't last them 2 whole years.
