The only reason they base their pricing on how many voice minutes you use is because it's an easy way to quantify things. Tying up their customer service agents all the time costs them way more money than sending a few thousand text messages. But, if they charged you based on how often you called customer service, people would freak out.Carriers need to (and eventually will) change their pricing structure. A pay-by-the-byte system is the only logical choice. If I purchase a new T-Mobile Blackberry model can I jsut move the sim card from the old to the new phone. This way I do not have to pay for new service.  <br>I have been told all I have to do is remove the sim  card from you old phone and install it in the new phone and T-mobil will not know the differenced.
