Is your straight-laced
M600 getting you down? Fear not, with some sort of magic -- we have no word if this is real magic or simply some tomfoolery disguised as such -- you can add a dash of Walkman flair by converting it to a
W950. We have seen similar conversion efforts in the past, and while some functionality is gained, some of course can be lost --
converting a K800 to a K810, for instance, results in the keyboard backlight no longer working. The user who reported performing this alleged trick on his handset didn't share any details about how this was done, so there isn't any way to check the credibility of this feat, so color us not too convinced on this one.
want a walkman player in your m600 ? you can do it with setool2.
okay, what we need:
1. zip archiver (winzip or pkzipc or smth)
2. w950 and m600 firmwares from support
M600
R6A13_CDA162011_1_ACPU_LL_Generic_World1.zip
W950
R6A13_CDA162014_1_ACPU_NI_Generic_World1.zip
3. create directory , well, "cnv"
make inside 3 folders: m600, w950, m950 ( )
unzip firmwares into corresponding folders.
4. now, "the trick"
copy next files from w950 folder into m950 folder:
R6A13_CDA162014_1_ACPU_NI_Generic_World1.armsoftwa re
R6A13_CDA162014_1_ACPU_NI_ROFS2_Generic_World1.arm software
R6A16R_CXC162075_ACPU_NI_ROFS1.armsoftware
R6A16R_CXC162088_ACPU_NI_ROFS1_EXT.armsoftware
copy next files from m600 folder into m950 folder:
R6A16R_CXC162074_ACPU_LL_CoreOS.armsoftware
633_91_R27A03_CDA162011_1_CCPU_LL_NoSIMLock_Generi c_World1.gdfs
R1A_M600_CCPU_GDFS_Update.gdfs
R6A03_CXC162098_CCPU_fs_LL_NI_Red_CID49_Respin.sof tware
R9F011_CXC162037_CCPU_HE_LL_NI_Red_CID49_Respin.so ftware
finally, zip m950 folder with winzip or other archiver.
5. flash resulted archive. if you want, check "process pda update files", that is NOT neccessary.
6. say thx to sony ericsson.
There is a video up there too, so perhaps it is real. A neat feat if it is ;)
