I will wait till Sprint gets the phone, Sprints phone as modem is the best and by the time sprint gets the phone it will be 2012
www.tixx.com
Sprint will probably not exist come 2012, let alone AT&T is silly enough to let Apple make CDMA versions...
You can view the 3 different commercials at www.apple.com/iphone
Anyone want to buy me one as a birthday present? I turn 22 on the 28th :)
lol dose anyone know how much it is without contract!?
u can't buy this without a contract. and yes, sprint will go the way that amp'd did yesterday within 2 years...they're losing far too many HUGE contracts. not to mention they're losing about as many customers as they're gaining.
I'm starting to feel like I do for the sidekick regarding this phone: I would like to try one, but I am not going to pay over $300 for one and I am not going to sign a two year contract for one.
If my iPod bites the dust, and if 10+ GB models come out...I might change my mind.
I left Sprint specifically for this phone...granted, I did like Sprint's data options, but their customer service sucks arse. June 29, an iPhone will be in my hands...
You know, I don't want to be annoying, but my birthday just happens to be the 29th of June. So, if anyone wants to get me a birthday present...
*Sigh* I was hoping BGR was right. Oh well now i can mark my calendar. Ive been able to upgrade since march, and my stupid s710 is dying a slow death. The price point sucks, but it wont matter once i get one of these in my hands! i'll forget all about it and probably start checking out accessories.
Sprint's losses are all on the iDEN side of the house which is not surprising. It's unfortunate and it's not good for their business but they're also not a small, mismanaged MVNO. Besides that, they have too many valuable resources to go bankrupt - they'll be purchased before that ever happens.
Bingo...when I said Sprint wouldn't exist in 2012, it was that they'd be bought out...not bankrupt as Will (the poster child for mindless, thoughtless AT&T fanboyism) states.
They just lost my contract (three lines, data & messaging on all three)...and while I was on the CDMA side, they're losing iDEN subscribers by the droves...but then, iDEN sucks arse.
Oh Will...will your hatred of Sprint (and AT&T fanboy lust) ever end?
Comparing Sprint with a crappy little MVNO like Amp'd is just silly. Sprint is making money, and they still have net gains in subscribers each quarter...but they're sort of tapped out it seems. However, WiMax might just give Sprint an astounding lead in 4G data - and keep them afloat without them getting snapped up by Alltel or Verizon.
When I ported out my numbers from Sprint to Cingular, I thought of you, although rather briefly...I hope you're not the typical AT&T shill...
Sprint Defection PDL: IF Sprint Wimax sux AND iPhone v2 arrives THEN "I raise the bar";

"let alone AT&T is silly enough to let Apple make CDMA versions..."
Apple finally went with AT&T as a launch partner because that carrier agreed to an unusually deep level of control by the manufacturer... your thought suggests AT&T made Apple its bitch.
If the iPhone meets expectations... once the exclusivity agreement with AT&T ends, a CDMA version will surface almost instantly. Guaranteed.
No, that wasn't my point - that AT&T somehow made Apple their bitch. We all know the story about Verizon, and how they passed.
However, Sprint being Sprint...what, it took them how many years to finally get a RAZR?
I WORK FOR AT&T AS A STORE MANAGER AND I WILL HAVE ONE IN MY HANDS AS SOON AS THE SHIPMENT COMES IN! BUT EVEN AS A MANAGER, I WILL STILL HAVE TO SHELL OUT THE CASH FOR IT, SINCE THE COMPANY IS NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO DEMO AN iPhone. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME I PAY FOR A CELL PHONE IN OVER 3 YEARS, SINCE I BEGAN WORKING FOR AT&T, BUT IT WILL BE VERY MUCH WORTH IT! THE BRIGHT SIDE IS THAT I GET THE AT&T EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT AND I DON'T EVER HAVE TO PAY A BILL FOR THE SERVICES.
Honestly I would have rather Apple had made a PDA like this rather than a phone. I would rather get it without a contract and use the PIM capabilities. Dialing and texting with a touch pad like that is going to be far inferior to actual buttons. And with Wi-Fi it would be a great device.
What is with the required two-year contract anyways? They are turning down a lot of buyers that way.
Surely someone who has been promoted to the ranks of store manager would know better than to use ALL CAPS, you'd think.
funny i was thinking that too
Too bad they didn't think about making this with a user replaceable battery! I guess they haven't heard the problems Treo has been having! Battery dies and then you are without your very cool new phone! What about people that talk and watch Video more that 5 hrs total without the ability to plug in! Too bad! Well I'll be waiting for the upgraded model that has a user replaceable battery!
