Dell selling unlocked high-end Nokia phones online
In a welcome, yet odd, development, Dell has started selling several high-end Nokia phones in an unlocked state via its online store. So far searches reveal that Dell is selling the Nokia N80, E61i, and E61 for around $400, and the N95 for $732. Those prices don't sound too great when compared to in-contract prices, but compared to similar unlocked offerings from high street stores they're pretty damn competitive. Besides, it doesn't look as if Dell is partnering with any mobile operators, and is instead highlighting the unlocked prices. Unlocked cellphone price war, anyone? If Dell's in the game, then you can bet that others will join.

WOW!!
But they are still GSM phones so they can only be used with ATT or TMobile, but this is wacky nonetheless.
I wonder who else will join. Other manufacturers have phones that they've already produced; e.g., HP, Toshiba.
you can blame that on sprint, verizon and alltel for using a non-standard technology
Thank you very much Dell. Unlocked Nokia phones worthless?! I think not! Besides...let Verizon suffer. Who dare charges a consumer $2.99 for a song because you can as one Verizon executive mentioned before. Here is something for a smart consumer to follow: Get Verizon, Sprint, and carriers like Metro PCS if you're indecisive, don't care about choice and blaintly ignorant. Get T-Mobile and at&t if you want what you want when you want it and have control of your wireless experience. I mean...it likes getting cable and you tv company telling you you have to buy a tv from them?! Chuck it I say.
... and I'm not coming up with anything but Nokia accessories. Can we get a link?
if you click the picture, then click on the prices on the page that comes up it takes you directly to them
Thanks.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the deal is with CDMA but companies like LG Motorola and HTC are pretty okay with making handsets for them. meh.
The N95 is cheaper at buy.com
Tigerdirect and Amazon sell it too.
This isn't new... we saw this coming back in April.

Why?
Why is this a big deal??? These "high end" Nokia items still only have one 3G band which is USELESS here in America!!!!! C'mon. Who cares??
funny how people dog on n95 for having only one 3g band all the while iphone with 2.5g gets all this hype. and no attack to oldman, just a general statement over all
