HTC Touch spotted on sale in Hong Kong
Book your flights and whip your checkbooks out, folks -- especially if an iPhone isn't in the cards for you next Friday. HTC's lovely Touch has been spotted (in Dopod trim) on the streets of Hong Kong for $478, which seems like a reasonable sum for a latest-gen Windows Mobile 6 Professional device, does it not?

This has been on sale for a couple of weeks now.
Its been launched for sale in Malaysia too last week.
Is that a price "with contract"? Or is a retail price on the unit?
I don't know how cell phone providers roll in Asia.
Why does the sign say "$3,680"? At first I thought oh maybe that's in yuan but it has a dollar sign and is in english...
Because Hong Kong uses dollars too - Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) which are worth around $7.30 USD right now.
Also, Hong Kong was an English colony for 150+ years up until 1997. If you've been there you'd see the road system is identical to the UK - same signs, roundabouts, etc.
And for the curious, the HK$-yuan conversion rate is approximately 1-to-1 (maybe something like 0.97-to-1, but not a significant difference).
if the Touch-FLO technology is really just software, i wonder if they will release it for purchase so that i can get it on my 6700.
nm my last comment... its most likely only compatible with WM6 and the capabilities of that OS.
DAMN YOU WM5
WHen is this thing coming equipped with quadband? Any ideas?
GSM Asia (excluding Korea and Japan, I guess) use a unlocked, unsubsidized phone model. Contracts are obtained independently, and though carriers often give incentives to get a phone with a contract, these are relatively minor.
Thats funny its on sale at mobile planet for a less than 600 but its not supposed to be released "yet"?

on sale in UK for GBP 310 at Expansys
Online in Singapore for 1 week plus. Without contract will be S$798 & $498 with telco 2yr contract (Free 1GB MicroSD)
There is one here in Hawaii at a shop near my house for $550.
Should be around US$461 (HK$3,600) in Hong Kong. It comes with a free 1Gb MicroSD Card (Well genuine MicroD Cards like Kingston, Sandisk or Toshiba are very cheap in HK, it is around US$11). No contract.
Got back from Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore on June 11th. They weren't selling the Touch at all yet. Bought one off Ebay for $525 and had it that week. The cellphone mall at Mongkok in HK is AMAZING but they definitely don't always get the newest latest immediately. They didn't have the Nokia 8600/Luna yet either. They DID, however, have the Samsung/Softbank SC707II. Web browsing may not work but the phone is still WAY sweet.
Anyone know if the HTC Advantage is available in HK? If so, how much?
Recently came across HTC Touch. Looks cool with the Touch Flo system. Questions :
1. Is the phone really as good as the hype around it?
2. Is the Touch Flo system stable?
3. I was told that keying in text is a hassle, is it true?
4. AND finally, is it worth buying???
