When laptops attack, Nokia style
Nokia has kicked off a clever new ad campaign for its N95 over at jealouscomputers.com. It features videos, "victim reports" and the like from ordinary unsuspecting citizens attacked by their once-faithful-but-now-green-with-envy laptops. The site is definitely worth a good once-over as some of the content -- we really thought the beach scene was a good laugh -- is pretty well done. Other highlights include downloadable content such as camouflaged ringtones, where the Nokia tone is disguised as somebody whistling or a dog barking. Hit the link to get in on the folly.

The first picture has an error calling the phone a "Nokia 95" instead of N95.
why would they be pushing the n95? its the e90 that is at the forefront right now. n95 has been out to long.
I think the N95 is still a "phone for the masses" (you know, the masses with $700 laying about for a phone) unlike the E90, a phone for the super-dedicated. Plus it looks an awful lot like a computer, so saying computers would have envy over tiny computers isn't as amusing.
Remember, this ad campaign is focused on Europe, where the N95 is pretty inexpensive if you get it with a contract. Vodafone UK has it for free if you get a high end service plan, so you really don't have to have $700 laying around if you happen to live in a country with a decent mobile carrier (i.e. not the USA or Canada).

These are awesome! What a great way to push a product!!
Take note: the attacker in the dorm room video was clearly a Macbook.
@Jason: the reason we're 'pushing' the N95 rather then the E90 is simple. The very purpose of this campaign is creating more brand-awareness for the Nseries (the N95 being the obvious flagship of the series).
Commercials and adds these days have become so clever and I think this is great ad that gets people talking about it our we wouldn’t be on this bog now would we doing exactly that talking about the product.
