The free iPhones seem to be flowing for the Apple employees promised them at the Apple
town hall meeting last month. Thinksecret is reporting that the first bunch to get the lootbags are Apple retails folks. We have to admit, we're pretty envious of "Generous Jobs" move to hand these out to all the staffers at Apple. Of course, we're hoping that at least a few of em have some programming skills and are inspired enough to hop on over the iPhone Dev Wiki to aid in the effort to
tame and
unlock their shiny new gift.
while everyone thinks mr jobs is generous. please remember it was stated apple gets $9 for every monthly bill on each customer. all those iphones he handed it out will turn a profit for him eventually. all he is really doing is adding more customers to at&t for those who werent with them. Smart SOB i say
I can confirm this, as someone I know that works at my local Apple retail store was showing me her new free iPhone the other day. She was quite buzzed about it.
This is confirmed hundred percent as I have been on-call for last couple of days supporting the "Apple Employee" activation of the iphone.
So does that mean that AT&T get 12 million 2 year contractual customers?
TOO BAD STEVE JOBS IS TO UNGENEROUS TO GIVE ANY AT&T EMPLOYEES ANY. WE JUST GET TO SIT BACK AND HEAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE THE ACTIVATION PROCESS IS AND HOW BUSINESS ACCOUNT USERS CAN'T BUY ONE! THANKS ALOT STEVE!!!
@drew nolen
Why would Apple give an AT&T employee a free phone? Perhaps AT&T should give you free cellular service. You shouldn't be mad at Jobs, rather your CEO.
Yeah really, why would Steve Jobs give free iPhones to AT&T employees? AT&T is far bigger than Apple and has more income, they should show their employees some appreciation themselves. Be pissed at your own company.
I LIKE TO TYPE IN CALL CAPS. I AM VERY MAD. LISTEN TO ME SCREAM. Get over it dude, AT&T was the second choice for carriers as it is. I bet Jobs likes AT&T as much as you like him.
Jobs luvs AT&T!
A friend got his starting this week. He's not retail. He gets a 15% employee discount through Apple on AT&T service which he already had.
