As expected, Samsung and T-Mobile have launched the Blast slider today, a phone that puts a big emphasis on messaging capabilities. The 1.3 megapixel camera and EDGE data aren't going to get any jaws dropping, but the SureType keypad (something Samsung has
pulled off in the past), integrated support for popular email services like Gmail and Yahoo, and crazy color scheme just might. What's better, T-Mobile is charging the same rate for email sent and received on the T729 for the same price as text messages -- no data plan necessary (why haven't other carriers thought of this?). Other features include stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot, and -- naturally --
myFaves support. Look for it on store shelves any day now for $99 on a two-year contract.
Neat phone...
Come on, T-Mobile... 3G! 3G! 3G! Everybody chant with me!! 3G! 3G! 3G! 3H..I mean G!
So instead of paying $5.99 for unlimited email, you can pay $0.15 for each email sent or received?
Boy, T-Mobile sure is innovative. Just like Verizon.
Being that it has a full keyboard, they may even say its not compatible with T-Zones and charge you $30 for Data! Rip-off.
T-Mobile... Get Less. Pay More!

I got this phone today and I am pleasantly suprised. The email works well and I really like some of the upgrades to Samsungs UI. This is a well designed and fully featured phone. So far so good!
So, if you have a text messaging plan, will the emails qualify as text messages, or will you have to pay per email even if you already have a plan?
The emails are covered under any messaging plan, just like SMS, MMS, and IM.
