Nokia N95 with American 3G gets FCC'd!
We're speechless. In fact, we think we might cry -- but rest assured, they're tears of joy. Rumors of a Nokia N95 packing American HSDPA have been spreading like wildfire as of late, and we're ecstatic to see that they were totally true. Though this sucker gets down with the 850 and 1900MHz bands, it doesn't get in on the 1700MHz action, suggesting that if the T-Mobile rumor is still true, this ain't it. Though arguably not quite as attractive as the decidedly non-US 8GB N95 in black that we saw this morning, this phone's innards are pretty much the most beautiful thing we've seen all day. Nokia, we turn the floor over to you to answer questions about pricing and availability.

I knew this would come along! Woohoo! Actually, I need to eat a little crow - like a dollar - for saying this wouldn't come along, but lo and behold! Great news for all of us!
Oh, Randal... I was just getting ready to rip you a new one in the other thread... but I'm too happy and excited to be that mean! Its like Christmas! Peace on Earth, goodwill to men, and an N95 for me!
I think a kitten just died somewhere.
roflmao! hahahahahah!
poor kittens
lol
am i the only one who got this?
lol`
Yeah, I do think you are the only person who got this, please explain.
There is some store that I know who swears that they are selling the N95 with U.S. 3G already, I wish I could believe them.
Wish it would handle T-Mobile's net too, but this may make me switch carriers.
I've never used a Symbian phone. I've told myself my next phone will be a Windows Mobile phone because of the ability to run Symantec pcAnywhere, Remote Desktop Connection, Office apps, and .net programming, but I had to ask, should I stick with my commitment or should I try SymbianOS?
YES!!! Try it. I'm making the switch myself and for some reason I am not in the least bit nervous.
Windows Mobile is great for me and I love what it does but I have the feeling that Symbian can do the same. It's a bit more of a loosened up OS--not so serious.
The n95 is a phenomenal phone though. Hey, why not get both?
not sure about the .net but the rest of your list has similar programs available for symbian
Hmm I assume this wont have the 8G hard drive?
An Open Letter to Tmobile,
Dear tmobile,
You have not given me 3G Yet and thats okay because I know you will in september, You have not Given me and iphone and thats okay too cause I don't want one, But I do want a Nokia N95 U.S. 3G how awesome would it be to have it under your service with 3G and Tmobile HotSpot at Home. Nokia has answered our prayers and I salute them. Tmobile the ball is in your court. If not I will have switch to At&t. OH NO!!
Yours Truely,
EL Cartel
Hopefully this percolates northward to the Rogers network soon...
@HAHAH
I keep reading this and it's driving me crazy. The 8GB N95 (discussed in the other thread) is not using a hard drive! Nobody is using a hard drive for anything less than 20 GB anymore... It's all flash memory now, the 8 GB N95, the iPhone, and others.
I have been a T-Mobile customer for years, starting with them when they offered the Nokia 3650, one of the earlies S60 phones that was cutting-edge...one of the very first camera phones. IMO, T-Mobile USA's phone model offerings have gotten less and less "cutting-edge," more mainstream, less adventurous, less enticing. It is very disappointing. It's as if they are simply playing it so safe that they've gotten boring. I'd much rather stay with T-Mobile, but Verizon and even AT%T have trumped them on cutting-edge innovative technology and exciting phone model offerings. May switch now with this disappointing news that N95 will probably not be picked up by them.
I am a satisfied and long time AT&T customer, but I don't think you should drop T-Mobile just yet. Yeah, the Nokia n95 is lookin' as good as the second coming of Christ, but you've gotta remember that T-Mobile is soon-to-launch its 3G network. As you know, T-Mobile is hot stuff in Europe, where they've had 3G networks running for a while. When they do launch it completely in the US, I am sure it'll be as innovative as its European sector and will remain competitively priced.

...but until then, yeah, life'll suck for you while I'm surfin' the web with US 3G!!!...yeah right, like I'll be able to afford it..Just get the Nokia n80, the next best Nokia offering.
I got real excited..but then remembered AT&T hasn't brought 3G to my area anyway! No time soon I reckon..so who cares
I don't have 3g in my area either (Canada, eh) but I don't mind futureproofing myself with this.
Come to daddy...
