Probably one reason why some of us did not rush to play with the hacks. If you have a device that is free to be without, play away. My phone is unhacked, lame to some I guess, but nonetheless it's less likely to have these errors so far. I saw some feedback about safari working a little faster and wifi performing better. So far it seems slightly faster than before but that could be a placebo effect. So far so good. Another person spoke of the iPod/surfing scenario where the iPod crashes while using safari. It's a matter of procedure. First, make sure you have a backup of the backup! Library/Application Support/Mobilesync/Backup (just in case), then click restore, confirm the update and restore dialogue and download the file, while it's downloading unplug the iPhone. Once the file is downloaded plug in the iPhone again and hit restore, now you get a "do you want to restore" message instead of update/restore. It will still update the phone but without the error messages, when it's done wait for the phone to activate before you restore the last backup (i think this is the important part, if you try to restore the backup before the phone activates it'll fail the restore), after all this hack the phone again and bob's-ur-uncle...

Alex

Comments on iPhone 1.0.2 update released

Mine cleared itself after the first update (1.0.1).
